How to Relax With Deep Breathing and Visualization

Relaxation breathing is fully optimized when you combine deep breathing exercise with visualization exercises. Visualize yourself while doing the things you want to do and assuming the person you dream to be.

Doing regular Qi Gong exercises can improve your breathing techniques and induce you to a state of peaceful relaxation.

Below are five techniques to help you follow breathing and visualization exercises.

  • 1. Connected Breathing.

Breathe in and breathe out in a seamless manner without interruption. This technique signifies the smooth flow of life energy making you move continuously to connect with the Universe.

  • 2. Microcosmic Breathing.

Imagine breathing from the bottom of your spine going straight up to your back all the way to the top of your head. Follow this technique when you want to take a really deep breath and you will feel in tune with the universe.

Try breathing from the top of your head down the front of your body to the base of your spinal column. Take a deep breath and feel the circular motion of the air. Do this exercise for five minutes a day and you feel good.

  • 3. Macrocosmic Breathing.

Visualize the number eight. Again take a deep breath and imagine it coming from the center of the Universe.

Absorb the energy into your body running through the balls of your feet to the front of your legs going up to the base of your spine passing through your back to the top of your head and imagine the sun smiling at you.
Now exhale using the energy from the top of you head feeling the heat of the sun as it lights up your whole being.

Now exhale using the energy from the front of your body to the base of the spine, then down the back of your legs, through the heels of your feet, back to the center of the earth.

Forget the negative thoughts as you breathe out. Return them to the earth.
If there is little tension while you are doing this exercise, just think about the Universe filling your body with light and healing.

  • 4. Metacosmic Breathing.

Start with Macrocosmic Breathing. As you breathe in, Visualize your self getting bigger as you inhale. You are like an angel growing bigger as the wings grow big as well.

Now you are as large as the universe. Close your wings as you try to collect all energy as you breathe. Feel the power of your breath the exhale as you spread your wings far and wide.
